In a move that’s sure to have wide-ranging ramifications in the athletic footwear industry, nike free has indefinitely postponed the Nike LeBron 12 release, due to what the company is calling a “small cosmetic issue.”
Originally scheduled to launch in its first colorway on October 1 in China and October 12 worldwide, the shoe will now languish in limbo until the Swoosh announces a new date, marking a very rare occurrence for such an anticipated sneaker.
While the exact cosmetic issue has not been identified, nike free 4.0 v3 it may be a problem that affects all seven initial colorways. Each has been pulled from Nike’s release calendar, although whether or not the delay will apply to all seven has also not been announced.
Nike’s official statement is as follows.
Product quality is a priority for Nike. Due to a small cosmetic issue with some of the LEBRON 12 shoes we have delayed the initial retail launch that was scheduled for China on October 1, and the global launch that was scheduled for October 11. We will communicate an update on the retail date as soon as possible.
