We’ve barely gotten a look at the Air Jordan 5 Low Alternate and already the release date is in flux.

Acronym’s Strangest Air Force 1 is Yet to Come

I don’t think anyone would deny that this week’s Acronym x Nike Lunar Force 1 collaboration, nike free run 3 with the giant attention-grabbing zipper integrated right into the upper, is a bit out of the ordinary. But here’s the thing: It’s not even the strangest Acronym Air Force 1 of the season.

Looking like a cross between the Riccardo Tisci AF1s, a Tech Fleece hoodie and a hardware store, nike free 3 v3 the Acronym x Nike Air Force 1 Downtown boot takes that honor. It boasts an ultra-high boot cut that appears to be comprised of Tech Fleece, with tonal leather adding a premium touch to the forefoot and eyestay.

Add to that a zipper on the medial side and all sorts of straps and plastic buckles — in keeping with Acronym’s sartorial sensibilities — and this is unquestionably one of the most unique Air Force 1s ever seen. Oh, and the sole sports the slimmed-down AF1 Downtown tooling, because god forbid this not be sleek and minimal.

Chris Paul Debuts All-Black Air Jordan 11 IE Low

Back in 1996, Nike created the Air Jordan 11 IE Low Referee Sample, an all-black shoe designed to be worn by and given exclusively to NBA refs. OK, it’s not exactly the referee sample, but CP3 showed up to USA Basketball’s minicamp in Las Vegas on Tuesday wearing an all-black Air Jordan 11 IE Low that paired a tumbled leather construction with what appears to be a synthetic nubuck mudguard. nike free run 2 grey white The materials and textures are a little off — the refs’ shoe was entirely tumbled leather, if memory serves — but you can see Dick Bavetta lacing these up in a big way.

Air Jordan 6 Low “Straight Outta Compton” Custom

Straight Outta Compton, the long-awaited NWA biopic, is currently garnering acclaim at theaters nationwide. nike free run 5 customize Haven’t seen it yet? Well don’t dally, just be like the Game and lace up your Air Jordan 6 Low NWA and hit your local cinema.

The eye-popping custom, created by John Born and worn to the film’s premiere by Game, nike free run 3 5 features a mural on one shoe emblazoned with NWA in its entirety: Dr. Dre, Eazy E, Ice Cube, DJ Yella and MC Wren. The other shoe sports that famous “NWA” script as well as the black-and-white “Straight Outta Compton” wordmark, the title of both the film and the group’s seminal debut album.

Despite being a custom version of the Air Jordan 6 Low Infrared, it looks like John Born is selling a near full size run of the shoes. $700 a pop on his Big Cartel page.

Air Jordan 7 “Marvin the Martian” Release 8/15

Out-of-this-world fashion comes to your all too terrestrial feet this weekend. The Air Jordan 7 Marvin the Martian releases tomorrow, August 15, white nike free run 2 womens at select Jordan accounts nationwide.

Inspired by the famous Looney Tunes alien, the shoe sports a buttery premium-looking black leather upper, nike free run 2 grey white starkly offset by red and green on the tongue and heel-tab, respectively; tones prevalent in Marvin’s signature outfit. A wild multicolored mix on the outsole and metallic silver along the midsole round out the look in strikingly colorful style.

There will always be a contingent of folks who are opposed to new colorways, and to each their own, but as far as we’re concerned, this is one of the best new VII colorways in light years. (Yes, we know that’s a unit of distance, not time, but wordplay.)
