Ever try to have an economically-conversation with someone about sneakers — how much the value of the coveted ones can increase with time, or how much the secondary market is expanding — only to see vacant stares or poorly-masked disbelief? Cheap Nike Free 2014 Next time, just mention this eBay auction: Two pairs of Zoom LeBron II Oregon Ducks PE’s just sold for nearly $17,000.
Sure, they’re classic, coveted and they never released. And sure, there are two pairs — the “Home” and “Away” iterations. But we’re still talking about $16,600 — $8,300 per pair — for some Nike Basketball shoes that, Nike Free 3.0 V5 New Zealand had they ever released, would have retailed for about 1.5% of that price. (Were merely talking original MSRP on a LeBron II, I understand the dynamics of scarcity and supply and demand.)
So if you were looking for a Golden Ticket fairy tale to convince your significant other you can never throw out a pair of shoes, here’s your reference point.
Oh! And if the seller’s Instagram account is to be believed, the buyer actually came through with the full amount!
