Air Force 1 “Preserved Icons” Channels Lady Liberty’s Changes

The Nike Basketball 4th of July collection hit stores last week, but it looks like the best of the Independence Day-themed kicks are yet to come. In fact, nike free new zealand here’s the crown jewel of this year’s crop: the Nike Air Force 1 Preserved Icons.

The classic model is no mere homage to the Statue of Liberty, it beautifully and quite realistically channels the famous colors of the American landmark. The shoe’s upper, cheap shoes new zealand just like the statue back in 1886, starts out in metallic copper. But — again, like the statue — as time and erosion take hold, that coppery color gives way to a pale teal patina tone. I’m honestly not prone to hyperbole, but between the visual storytelling and striking aesthetics — to say nothing of the changing appearance — this might be one of the best Air Force 1s ever.

The Air Force 1 Preserved Icons is hitting select NSW accounts from now through the holiday weekend. Take a closer look below, and keep your eyes peeled going forward.
